Election Activities
Ballot Walkthrough
A ballot walkthrough is a process where community members are guided through the steps of filling out a ballot, ensuring they understand and follow the proper procedure. The event has community guides who explain each section, marking, and requirement of the ballot to promote accurate and informed voting. The goal is to enhance voter confidence and reduce errors or confusion when completing the ballot. No recommendations are made to direct participants on their voting choices; individuals are asked to complete their ballots separate from the event. These walkthroughs are open to the public.
Listening Event / Meet & Greet
An election-related informal gathering designed to facilitate dialogue and understanding between candidates and voters. It provides an opportunity for constituents to express their concerns, share their perspectives, and directly engage with candidates to better inform their voting decisions. These events aim to foster active civic participation and enable candidates to gain insights into the needs and priorities of the electorate. These events are open to the public.
Candidate Forum
A candidate forum is a structured event where opposing political candidates come together to answer questions from the public and present their views. It serves as a platform for candidates to articulate their positions on various issues and connect with potential voters. These forums are organized by community groups, media outlets, or political organizations to promote transparency and informed decision-making during elections. The formal structure is focused on candidates responding to selected written questions from the audience. These forums are open to the public.
