Yakima County Civic Engagement Collective

The Yakima County Civic Engagement Collective is a collaboration between multiple non-partisan organizations working together to increase civic engagement in Yakima County by partnering, leveraging resources, and communications.

A ballot walkthrough is a process where community members are guided through the steps of filling out a ballot, ensuring they understand and follow the proper procedure.  The event has community guides who explain each section, marking, and requirement of the ballot to promote accurate and informed voting. The goal is to enhance voter confidence and reduce errors or confusion when completing the ballot. No recommendations are made to direct participants on their voting choices; individuals are asked to complete their ballots separate from the event. These walkthroughs are open to the public.

An election-related informal gathering designed to facilitate dialogue and understanding between candidates and voters. It provides an opportunity for constituents to express their concerns, share their perspectives, and directly engage with candidates to better inform their voting decisions. These events aim to foster active civic participation and enable candidates to gain insights into the needs and priorities of the electorate. These events are open to the public.
